1. Purpose and Eligibility
This platform is a voluntary coordination tool built to manage operations for the Pálinka Lounge theme camp community at Burning Man. Camp Members have full access to internal logistics, task sheets, and member-only areas. Visitors only have access to global public spaces and are not involved in camp management.
2. Keeping the Space Friendly (Acceptable Use)
We are guided by the Burning Man principles of Communal Effort and Civic Responsibility. You agree to use this platform in good faith, provide accurate information, and treat other users with respect. We reserve the right to suspend or remove accounts at any time if necessary to keep the platform environment safe and organized.
3. Public Chats & Sensitive Info
To encourage open community coordination and maintain platform simplicity, there is no private messaging built into this site. We only have shared chat rooms. Anything you post in the Global Chat is visible to any registered user or visitor on the platform. Please do not post sensitive personal data like your home address, phone number, or financial details. You are responsible for the content you choose to share.
4. Photo Uploads and Content Moderation
Users can upload a profile photo and images to the shared spaces. By uploading any photo, you confirm that you own the image or have permission to share it, and that it does not violate anyone else's privacy or copyright. To keep our digital camp space safe and accurate, camp administrators reserve the right to review and remove any uploaded photos that are deemed inappropriate, offensive, or unrelated to camp logistics. Just like chat messages, assume uploaded photos are visible to other users in those spaces. Do not upload photos containing sensitive personal information (like pictures of legal documents, IDs, or financial information). The volunteer crew is not liable for unauthorized downloads or sharing of your photos by other users.
5. Radical Transparency & Limitation of Liability
The Pálinka Lounge is an informal, cooperative group of friends. We are not a corporation or a legal entity, and this site is a volunteer passion project. This platform is provided entirely on an "as-is" and "as-available" basis. We do our absolute best to keep things secure and running smoothly, but we cannot offer corporate guarantees or legal warranties. By joining, you agree to use this site entirely at your own risk and agree not to hold the volunteer developers, camp leads, or administrators liable for any issues, including but not limited to server downtime, data bugs, or data breaches.
6. Governing Law
In the rare event of a legal dispute, you agree that the laws of the State of California apply, and any proceedings will take place in the jurisdiction where the platform administrator operates.
